Position Overview:
KeyCare is looking for an experienced Epic Clinical Applications Leader to join our Epic team. As a leader with KeyCare's Core EHR team, this role will play a crucial role driving our mission to empower virtual care teams that support, strengthen, and amplify health systems across the US. They will lead workflow design, application build, coordinate integrated testing, and partner with KeyCare stakeholders and clients to address issues. This role will be knowledgeable about the application and KeyCare's policies, procedures, and business operations, and will have technical and soft skills to navigate many situations and guide projects and maintenance successfully.
Key Responsibilities:
Workflow Design, System Configuration, and Technical Guidance
- Oversee and directly contribute to the architecture, design, and build of KeyCare’s Epic system, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Offer technical guidance and support for MyChart, EpicCare Ambulatory, Care Everywhere, Hello World, and related applications (including 3rd parties) to meet the needs of KeyCare and our clients.
- Share knowledge of clinical workflows, solutions to common challenges, and recommendations for Epic configuration best practices.
- Find creative solutions and diverge from Foundation as needed to meet organizational objectives.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Provide clear vision and direction to the team, aligning efforts with organizational goals.
- Facilitate and lead decision-making processes, ensuring the team stays on track with deadlines.
- Act as a liaison between the Epic team and other stakeholders, such as product owners, clinical leaders, and operations. Ensure clear and effective communication of progress, risks, and issues.
- Work closely with other teams and departments to ensure smooth integration and alignment of efforts across the organization.
- Address and mediate conflicts within the team, ensuring a collaborative working environment.
Process Facilitation
- Ensure the team follows defined solution delivery processes informed by scrum, kanban, or other relevant frameworks. This includes facilitating stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retros.
- Ensure the team delivers high-quality products by promoting good testing practices, including automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
- Help manage and optimize the team's workflow using tools like JIRA. This involves tracking progress, identifying bottlenecks, and making process improvements.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to reflect on and improve their processes and practices regularly.
Team Development
- Manage and coach team members, helping them grow their skills and advance their careers. This can involve one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and providing constructive feedback.
- Identify training needs and facilitate opportunities for professional development, such as workshops, courses, or conferences.
- Foster a sense of team cohesion and camaraderie, organizing team-building activities and promoting a supportive and inclusive environment.
Qualifications:
- EpicCare Ambulatory, MyChart or similar certification.
- 3+ years Epic-related management experience.
- Experience with relevant Epic integrations (FDB, IMO, SureScripts, CoverMyMeds, Lab and Imaging interfaces, Patient Education content).
- Strong organizational skills and ability and willingness to own work activities and ensure they are completed accurately, efficiently and on time.
- Ability and willingness to see things in an open-minded way and examine an idea, concept, or issue from as many angles as possible.
- Demonstrated success in a startup or non-traditional healthcare organization, with ability and willingness to learn new software and systems.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
- EpicCare Ambulatory, MyChart or similar certification.
- 3+ years Epic-related management experience.
Travel Requirements
10% (Expect up to 4 trips / 12 days of travel year)
